DESCRIPTION:  

On paper, professional ethics seem simple – just do the right thing. But in the real-world ethics can become very complicated for design and construction professionals competing for business and serving competing clients. Frequently, the "conscience clauses" of many new contracts only compound the challenges.  This program draws on real life ethical cases from design professionals to illustrate the challenges and corresponding dilemmas. Based on those real-world experiences, the program will chart a path to manage those challenges and clear the way for professional success, business stability, and expansion.

David Ericksen is a principal shareholder in and immediate past President of the law firm of Severson & Werson in San Francisco. David has led the firm’s Construction and Environmental Practices for over twenty years, specializing in the representation of architects, engineers, construction managers, design‐builders, and other construction professionals. David's expertise covers all aspects of such professional practice as lead litigation and trial counsel, as well as being an active resource for risk management, strategic planning, and transactional matters.

In order to register, you will need to select the name of your Professional Liability Agency / Broker.

  • There will be 2 lists - A-K and L-W. 
  • Select the proper list and choose your agency/broker. 
  • For the other list, choose the "My Broker was in the other list" option.

Tips for a Successful Webinar Experience

  1. Be sure to complete all of the required fields in the GoToWebinar registration platform.
  2. Once you complete your registration, you will receive a system generated email that will contain an “Add to Calendar” option as well as the link to join the webinar that day.
  3. All participants wanting credit of any kind MUST register individual AND log in to their own computer / device with the link sent to them.
  4. We recommend you test if your computer will work with GoToWebinar.  Click here to test your computer. You must have JavaScript on your computer to run the webinar
  5. To hear the webinar, you can either dial in by phone using the number provided in the confirmation email or by using your computer's speakers. 
  6. If requesting AIA credit, please indicate that on your registration.  Certificates will be sent in the body of an email within 1 week of the registration.
